In some cases, field recording can be considered to go beyond a purely documentary function; to become part of a broader aesthetic framework. In ‘Chronotropism’, field recordings are not used to represent an activity in its natural state, documentary, but to explore the sound qualities of the field recording from the collected timbres in order to bring out musical compositions with analogue synthesizers, voice and sound processing. In this project, field recordings became both origin and source of music, developing sensations to dive into. The summoned sounds take a double place- they evoke and construct an original music that goes beyond a context. The goal is to tie the field recording with a broader apprehension of the sound, which understands and supports its qualities through evocative composition, nourished by an organic but also synthetic substance.

My work is connected to the organic, textures and spaces. Through the use of field recording, digital processing and sound synthesis, I am particularly interested in the possible development of the sounds that surrounds us in order to change our relationship to the environment, sound and our imagination.
